Life, Art, and Genres

We were watching Curb Your Enthusiasm and, when it was over, I said to Lo, “You know, I owe it to you that I see my life as a comedy and not a tragedy.”
“What?” she asked, surprised by this unexpected gratitude.
“I mean it. Before we began dating, I viewed my life as a serious thing that inevitably would end in tragedy. Now I see that it is really comedy — more like a sitcom. Don’t you feel that way?”
“No, I think your life is like a really well written porno.”
“Darling, that is an oxymoron. There are no really well written pornos.”
“Yes there are — mysexlifewithlola,” she said.
