On Sexy Photos and Censorship

HH and I (the couple from mysexlifewithlola.com) have been blogging since 2011. In that time we have been banned from PayPal for “adult content” and then WordPress took down our blog due to explicit photos and other content.
Thanks to friends in the kink-blogger community, we were able to transfer our blog to a self-hosted private site and continue in relative peace.
I started a Tumblr account to both promote the blog and share my sexy self in images with the world. That got shut down about a year ago by Tumblr due to it’s content. Just like with WordPress, there was no warning, no chance to rectify the so-called “problem,” no second chances.
Then last week Tumblr notified us and all adult content creators that as of December 17 they will no longer tolerate explicit sexy stuff. How they, according to their words, will distinguish between Michelangelo’s David and my nudes is beyond me. Why is the former ‘artistic expression’ and the latter ‘smut’ deserving of censorship?
I’ve been posting our sexy stories here on Medium for over a year now and I like to use my own photos rather than photoshopped stock photos. Luckily, when I posted something a bit too racy for Medium, they at least had the common decency to send me a warning letter and allow me time to curate the photos I post here to allow them to go up to that sexy line, without crossing over into the smut territory.
What are your thoughts on the subject?
